"A swift, sacred warrior and a master of martial arts. Monks embody the will of their land, Ivgorod, and their one thousand and one gods. Lightning-fast strikes and peerless mobility are the Monk’s specialty, and they pummel their enemies with a dizzying array of blows."[1]

Monks deliver their own brand of divine justice to the demonic hordes, using an amalgam of pummeling fist and puncturing palm attacks for offense, the sanctity of protective shields and mystical allies for defense, and relying on flying kick dashes to fluidly chain their martial barrage from one fight to the next. Monks channel attacks into cyclones of raw martial fury, landing paralyzing blows from all sides and using their Zen-like state to shield them from incoming damage.

Primary Attributes

Diablo Immortal has 5 Primary Attributes: Strength, Intelligence, Fortitude, Vitality, and Willpower. Every stat point gained in any of these attributes will increase your Offense and Defense Rating, so your character will always increase in power. The benefits of said attributes differ from class to class, and different attributes will be more desirable to chase depending on your chosen character.

These are the Primary Attributes and their effects, ranked based on attractiveness to the Monk class:

  • Strength - This attribute increases the Monk's damage and is of utmost importance across all of your gear.
  • Fortitude - This attribute increases the Armor and Armor Penetration Secondary Attributes, which are vitally important in endgame progression, where you need to go through the enemies' defenses first to inflict damage.
  • Vitality - This attribute increases your life points, which is your most basic form of mitigation and staving off death. While it is never a useless stat to obtain, investing beyond the point of tanking basic damage is also unnecessary, as Diablo Immortal lacks a Hardcore mode and cannot threaten you with permanent character loss.
  • Willpower - This attribute increases the Potency and Resistance Secondary Attributes, which increase the duration of harmful effects you inflict on enemies and reduces their duration on yourself, respectively. This attribute provides limited usefulness to the Monk class outside of surviving harmful status effects.
  • Intelligence - This attribute only provides the basic one point of Offense and Defense Rating to Monks, which other attributes also provide. Replace this attribute as soon as you can.

Skills

All classes can slot 1 Primary Attack and 4 Active Skills. Skills are unlocked gradually as you level up, and are leveled up automatically along with your progression. Primary Attacks can be used at any time and gradually build up the resource necessary to unleash the Ultimate ability, while Active Skills vary between cooldown- and charge-based abilities.

Skills are modified through Legendary Inscriptions which can enhance their duration, charges, range, power, and even change the purpose of the skill entirely. The Monk has access to the following skills:

Fists of Thunder (Primary Attack)

Description: Teleport to a nearby enemy and unleash a rapid succession of punches that each deal X to X damage. You can teleport again after every third hit.

Ultimate: Lightning Flux - Enhance Fists of Thunder for 12 seconds, teleporting to an enemy on each hit and generating a thunderstorm each time you defeat an enemy. Thunderstorms deal damage and knock enemies away. You also gain a shield which absorbs damage equal to 20% of your maximum Life for 3 seconds.

Deadly Reach (Primary Attack)

Description: Project lines of piercing force that deal X to X damage to the target and X to X damage to enemies behind the target.

Ultimate: Release Force - Enhance Deadly Reach for 12 seconds, causing it to also knock enemies away. You also gain a shield which absorbs damage equal to 20% of your maximum Life for 3 seconds.

Cyclone Strike

Description: Generate a vortex of wind which pulls in enemies and deals up to X damage. Charging longer increases range and damage up to X.

Exploding Palm

Cooldown: 6 Sec

Description: Attack enemies in a direction for X damage and inflict Bleeding on them for 5 seconds. Enemies that die while Bleeding will explode for X damage to all nearby enemies. Enemies can only be hit 5 times within 1 second by these explosions, and starting with explosion 2 and beyond, take only 30% of normal damage. Maximum 2 charges.

Flying Kick

Cooldown: 12 Sec

Description: Kick forward dealing X damage to enemies in your path and knocking them away. Flying Kick can rebound off walls, dealing an additional X damage to nearby enemies. Maximum 3 charges. Players may only be affected once every 3 seconds by this skill.

Description: Attack enemies in a direction for X damage and Immobilize them for 5 seconds.

Inner Sanctuary

Description: Place a runic circle of protection for 9 seconds that reduces all damage taken by you and your allies within the circle by 50%.

Mystic Allies

Description: Summon two spirit allies to fight by your side for 10 seconds. They have 100% of your Life and deal X damage with their attacks.

Seven-Sided Strike

Description: Dash rapidly between nearby enemies, striking 7 times for X damage each time. Additional hits on the same target deal only 50% of normal damage.

Shield of Zen

Cooldown: 12 Sec

Description: Protect yourself or an ally with a shield absorbing X damage for 5 seconds. This shield also prevents all effects which cause loss of control of your character. Protecting an ally will cause you to charge to their location and grant you both this Shield.

Description: Crush enemies in an area with a focused wave of light for X damage. Maximum 2 charges.

Wave Strike

Description: Unleash a wave of energy, carrying enemies hit within it and exploding for X damage to all nearby enemies at its maximum range. Charging longer increases range and damage up to X. When fully charged the waves will also knock enemies away.
